What is BCAR’s vision for the future of downtown parking?
- A consistent City parking policy focusing on long-term benefit to all parties. The City needs a rising downtown real estate tax base and reasonable parking rates foster this goal.
- All City-owned downtown parking facilities under one management umbrella.
- All parking revenues staying in the parking system for the benefit of system users.
BCAR and the City of Buffalo’s downtown municipal parking system has historically been based on an equitable and fair provision of parking for the entire downtown community. The provision of convenient and reasonably priced parking is a goal needed past and present to encourage development and expansion of the downtown retail and office operations. We at BCAR feel we have attained this goal in the past, and will continue to meet it in the future all without burden to the taxpayer and all paid for by parking users sharing the benefits and burdens.
